Although the outbreak of the cataract is <b>frequent among older people<\/b>, it can affect <b>younger as well<\/b>. It consists of the removal of the opaque crystalline lens with the consequent replacement of an artificial optic lens (called intraocular lens IOL).<b> Surgery is absolutely painless thanks to the action of anesthetic eye drops<\/b>. Such lens is not visible externally and it is imperceptible for the person who wears it. <b>There are different kind of intraocular lens<\/b> and the choice depends on the features and needs of our eye:\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-3048-6\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"siteorigin-panels-stretch panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-3048-6\" data-stretch-type=\"full\" ><div id=\"pgc-3048-6-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-3048-6-0-0\" class=\"widget_text so-panel widget widget_custom_html panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"9\" ><div class=\"textwidget custom-html-widget\"><div class=\"pag-servizio-wrapper\">\n\t<h2 class=\"pag-servizio-subtitile centrato\">\n\t\tMonofocal IOLs\n\t<\/h2><hr \/>\n\t<p class=\"pag-servizio-text justify\">\n\t\tThat <b>allow to see clearly from afar<\/b> but they need the <b>use of glasses to focus closely<\/b> (for instance, to read a book or smartphone). These lenses can be also designed to correct astigmatism (TORIC IOLs).\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-3048-6-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-3048-6-1-0\" class=\"widget_text so-panel widget widget_custom_html panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"10\" ><div class=\"textwidget custom-html-widget\"><div class=\"pag-servizio-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"pag-servizio-subtitile centrato\">\n\t\tMultifocal IOLs \n\t<\/h2><hr \/>\n\t<p class=\"pag-servizio-text justify\">\n\t\tThat <b>allow to see without glasses at more than one distance<\/b>: closely (to read the book) intermediate distance (to read computer) and from afar (road sign). This is possible because the artificial lenses implanted not only allow to solve cataract, but also to correct the potential co-presence of myopia, astigmatism, hypermetropia and\/or presbyopia.
